We’re excited to highlight our Third Coast Events book club, which has become one of our favorite team-building events. We come together each week to discuss our most recent reading selection, with our current choice being Dale Carnegie’s classic “How to Win Friends and Influence People.” Dana I., our firm’s CEO, picked this renowned motivational book because she believes it features valuable lessons for everyone.
Ongoing improvement is a way of life around the Third Coast Events office, so analyzing the books we read as a group is an ideal weekly pursuit. The lessons we gain from reading soak in even faster when we can discuss what we learned together. This also happens with our in-office training sessions, during which the concepts we learn get amplified through our real-time discussions.
Our book club is also a powerful driver of effective collaboration. The inspiring passages and success-boosting strategies we read about quickly find their way into our projects. We feel better equipped to tackle new challenges thanks to our discussions about what we’re reading. The fact that we also learn more about each other on a personal level is just icing on the cake.
