This time of year is ideal for expressing gratitude, but it’s something we aim to do every day around the Third Coast Events office. Dana I., our firm’s CEO, explained that focusing on the things we should be grateful for is an ideal way to stay motivated and engaged. By keeping our thoughts fixed on the good things in our lives, we make it easier to aim for lofty targets with confidence.
One of the best outcomes of being more grateful is that it increases your capacity for empathy. The more we appreciate the good things in our lives, the more likely we are to understand the challenges others might be facing. We’ve found that gratitude inspires us to help people even more. After all, we want everyone to be able to focus on the positives.
Meditation is one of the ways we make gratitude a major part of our lives. For about 10 minutes every day, we take deep breaths and focus on nothing but the uplifting and inspiring things around us. They might be recent Third Coast Events wins or future goals, but we always direct our thoughts toward positive topics. Many of the things we think about during our meditation sessions gets written down later in our gratitude journals. This allows us to build on our good thoughts and get inspired for the next day.
